Location Awareness

Matalot's unique approach to task management relies heavily on your physical location. Whenever you reach a new location, you can save it and assign it to one or more of your categories. When you'll be at the same location again, Matalot will then show you tasks that are only relevant to this location.

In order to save your location, you'll have to either edit an existing category or add a new one. Then, in the edit screen, you'll see a row labeled Location.

Edit Screen Category Row

In order to set the location for the category you're editing, and/or save your current location click on the Location row. Next, the locations screen will appear.

Locations Screen

By default, the locations screen shows all saved locations, ordered by relevance. Relevant locations are nearby. The location assigned to your category is marked with a check mark. You can click on any location and set that location for your category.

Besides your saved locations, there are two special locations called Anywhere and Nowhere. You can't edit these locations but you can assign them to your category. Anywhere means your category will always be relevant. Nowhere means it will never be relevant.

If you wish to save your current location or edit your already saved locations, just click on the Edit button in the top right corner. Clicking on the edit button will enter the screen to editing mode.

Edit Locations Screen

In editing you can do several things:

Saving your current location

After entering edit mode, your current location will appear with a + button next to it. If you wish to save this location, just click on it and it'll be saved.

Note that if your current location has already been saved you won't get the + button in editing mode.

Renaming a saved location

When you save your current location, Matalot uses the name it found for that location. If you wish to give a different name for the location, you can click on it while in editing mode and you'll be taken to a screen allowing you to change the name.

Deleting a saved location

While in editing mode, each saved location has a - button next to it. If you wish to delete a location, just click the - button.
