Tasks in Matalot have many properties. All properties are visible when viewing a task, and can be changed at creation time or at any later time. When creating a new task, or when editing an existing task, the same screen is used.
This screen enables access to all properties of your tasks.
Each task has a title in Matalot. That title is visible straight from the task list and expresses the main idea of the task. Each task must have a title.
In addition to the title, each task may have optional notes. In these notes you can write any additional information related to the task. If a task has notes, they are displayed below its title in the task list.
Each task has a priority. The default priority is Normal (0). You can read more about priorities in Matalot here.
Matalot realizes not all tasks should be done at the same time. For that, Matalot allows you to set start and due dates for each task. These dates are accessible through the Schedule section.
Matalot uses the start and due dates to calculate both the relevance and the importance of a task. Tasks are considered relevant if their start date has passed.
The importance of each task is affected by how close it is to its due date. The closer a task gets to its due date the higher the importance Matalot give it.
The Categories section allows you to define which categories the task belongs to. A task may be assigned to as many categories as you wish, or to no categories at all. You can use this behavior in order to create complex relevance and importance rules for your tasks.
As Matalot lives in your mobile handset, it can take advantage of your mobile contacts. You can attach as many contacts you wish to any task. Doing so both helps remember which people you may need for the task, and allows easy access to them later.
Contacts you attach to your task later appear when viewing the task. You can then tap each contact and view its complete details and access any information you need.
